A WELL SEASONED WOMAN

On my face you see some wrinkles,

In my hair there’s some gray,

My figure’s not quite what it was yesterday,

In my eyes you see experience, life to me is real,

I’m a well seasoned woman, but I’m not over the hill.

From the time I was a little girl, I would always pray,

Oh, let me live tomorrow Lord, I thank you for today,

I see so many things to do, things, I’ve got to try,

I can’t waste another minute; I want to live before I die.

I’m thankful because I fell in love, had a chance to be a wife,

I helped to raise a family, with its joys and with its strives,

I felt the pain of loneliness when my children all left home,

The man I’d given all my love, he’s gone, now I’m alone.

I have no time for bitterness, because of things I want to do,

Chapter One is over, so I am starting Chapter Two,

There are places I haven’t been, dreams I must fulfill,

I’m a well seasoned woman, about to climb another hill.
